Tata Power Solar alternatives in Delhi NCR

Figures verified on 18 Sept 2026; next review 18 Dec 2026. Every number links to its source on the sources page.

Homeowners in Delhi and Noida who want an alternative to Tata Power Solar for a subsidised system under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana are usually choosing between two ways of buying rooftop solar: a manufacturer that sells its own modules through a network of channel partners, or a local engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company that surveys the roof itself and picks modules from several manufacturers. Verde Solaire is the second kind. It is ISO 9001:2015 certified, has delivered more than 50 MW of solar projects, and is a registered PM Surya Ghar vendor in both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

This page sets out what Tata Power Solar says about itself on its own website, where it is clearly ahead, what changes for you when a local EPC does the work, and the checks that apply to any installer you shortlist. Nothing here comes from review sites, ratings or complaint forums.

What Tata Power Solar says about itself

We read five pages on tatapowersolar.com on 18 September 2026 and quote them as published. Its rooftops page describes the company as "pioneers in India's rooftop domain for more than 30 years, having commissioned our first solar installation in 1991", claims "1900 MW++ of cumulative solar rooftop installations", calls itself the "partner of choice for over 20,000 residential customers", and lists "350+ sales & service channels partners across India" and "24X7 Remote monitoring for performance analysis & real-time service support". It cites Bridge to India for the title "India's No. 1 Solar Rooftop EPC player" for eight years in a row.

Its manufacturing page states that "our module manufacturing lines have an in-house production capacity of 670MW for modules and 530MW of cells". Its dealer locator says "Tata Power Solar products are available through an extensive network of 1000+ channel partners present across India and its neighbouring countries", and is a search form by segment, state and city. The residential financing page lists "Collateral Free Options", "Low Interest Rates" and "Minimum Documentation" but names no bank, rate or tenure; it gives a phone number and an enquiry form instead.

On scale, history and manufacturing, Tata Power Solar is ahead of every local installer in Delhi NCR, Verde Solaire included, and this page does not pretend otherwise. Set against 1,900 MW of rooftop installations, Verde Solaire's record of more than 50 MW of solar projects is small, and it does not make panels.

What those pages do not say matters as much. None of the five states panel, inverter or workmanship warranty years, an installation timeline, a residential price, or whether the channel partner or Tata Power Solar itself installs and services a home system. If a partner quotes you, those are the questions to put in writing.

Tata Power-DDL is not Tata Power Solar

A common confusion in North Delhi: Tata Power-DDL is an electricity board (DISCOM). It supplies power, sanctions your load and publishes the net-metering application and manual on tatapower-ddl.com. Tata Power Solar is a manufacturer and EPC company. Being a Tata Power-DDL consumer does not tie you to Tata Power Solar: under the scheme, the installer must be a vendor registered on the national portal, and you choose the vendor on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. The Tata Power-DDL net-metering page covers the application, and the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) rule of a connection within 10 days for systems up to 10 kW applies to every Delhi board.

What changes when a local EPC does the work

Module choice. A manufacturer's channel sells that manufacturer's modules. A local EPC chooses per roof. Verde Solaire's published installations have used Adani, Vikram Solar, Waaree, Emmvee and CEL modules with Delta, Schneider, KSolare and Havells inverters; it is certified by Vikram Solar as a trusted quality EPC integrator and an authorised solar solutions partner of Luminous. The subsidy rule is the same whoever installs: both the modules and the cells must be made in India, and from 1 June 2026 the cells must appear on the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers, ALMM List-II. Ask any installer for the module and cell model numbers before you sign.

Who you deal with. With a channel partner, the partner is usually the company you contract with, and the brand's pages leave the division of work unstated. With Verde Solaire the company that surveys the roof is the one that installs, files the PM Surya Ghar application and follows the net meter through to activation. A Sector 25, Noida customer wrote that the team handled the complete installation, including the documentation and the follow-up with the electricity department for the net meter. A Greater Kailash customer wrote: "We had agreed for 530W Mono Perc Adani solar panels for my solar energy system, but they installed a better bifacial solar panel of Adani without charging anything extra from us."

Structures and awkward roofs. A Janakpuri customer described his 10 kW system as "Vikram solar panels and KSolare inverters with an elevated module mounting structure", and added that the net metering was delayed by the DISCOM. That second point is worth keeping: the board's timeline is not the installer's, whoever installs. Elevated and custom structures are where an engineer standing on your roof earns the fee.

Monitoring and reach. Here the national brand is ahead. Tata Power Solar publishes a 24x7 remote monitoring claim and a pan-India network. Verde Solaire has published no equivalent monitoring service and works from offices in Noida (head office, Sector 47), New Delhi (Sarvodaya Enclave) and Varanasi. Ask any installer what the inverter's own app shows and who watches it.

Seven checks for any alternative

  1. Registration. Confirm the company on pmsuryaghar.gov.in before paying anything; the vendor check guide shows where to look.
  2. Make and model. Panel, cell and inverter model numbers in the quote, with their ALMM List-II status.
  3. Who signs. The name on the contract, on the warranty and on the service call should be the same company.
  4. Gross, subsidy, net. Three separate lines on the quote. You pay the installer; the government pays you.
  5. Net metering. A named person who follows the DISCOM, and a realistic timeline for your board.
  6. Warranty in years. Verde Solaire's July 2025 price posts state 25-year performance warranties on all three panel types; ask every installer for inverter and workmanship terms in writing.
  7. A survey before the number. Verde Solaire offers a free site evaluation and no-obligation proposal; a quote without a roof visit is a guess.

The national brand or local installer page turns these into a longer framework that applies to any company.

Where Verde Solaire fits

Verde Solaire is a Delhi NCR EPC. It has a team with combined experience of more than 2,000 MW, installs home systems from 1 kW to 50 kW and is registered with IOCL, UHBVN, DHBVN, CEL, IPGCL, BRPL and CREST for solar power plant installations. It offers subsidy assistance for eligible customers in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and has tie-ups with SIDBI, SBI and other NBFCs for collateral-free solar loans. Its prices are public: a 3 kW system is ₹1,99,000 to ₹2,10,000 before subsidy on the July 2025 list, which nets to ₹91,000 to ₹1,02,000 in Delhi and ₹91,000 to ₹1,02,000 in Noida after the central and state subsidy. The Delhi and Noida price pages show every capacity.

What Verde Solaire is not: a manufacturer, a pan-India brand, or a company with a published 24x7 monitoring service. If those three matter more to you than module choice, a single point of contact and a public price, Tata Power Solar or one of its partners may be the better fit. The head-to-head page sets both companies out side by side.
