Rooftop solar price in Ghaziabad, 1 to 10 kW

A 3 kW rooftop solar system in Ghaziabad costs ₹1,99,000 to ₹2,10,000 on Verde Solaire's published price list, and ₹91,000 to ₹1,02,000 once the ₹78,000 central subsidy under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and the ₹30,000 Uttar Pradesh top-up are taken off. The planning estimate is about 338 units a month, enough to remove most of the energy charge for a home running two to four air conditioners, and on PVVNL's domestic tariff the net cost comes back in roughly four years.

Those are the figures for the size most Ghaziabad homes ask about. Below are the equivalents for 1, 2, 5 and 10 kW, where the subsidy stops and why, what PVVNL requires before the net meter goes in, what the bill looks like afterwards, and the assumptions every number rests on.

The price table for Ghaziabad

Each published price covers panels, inverter, mounting structure, the net-metering work, installation and warranty. The ranges are the ones Verde Solaire posted in mid-2025 for Ghaziabad, Noida and Delhi, and a written quote after a roof survey replaces them.^{[vs-post-140]} The central subsidy is fixed by capacity: ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW, ₹18,000 for the third, and a ceiling of ₹78,000 for anything larger.^[1] Uttar Pradesh adds ₹15,000 per kW under its Solar Energy Policy 2022, capped at ₹30,000 per consumer, on top of the central subsidy.^[16]

There is no published price for 10 kW because the structure, cable runs and inverter selection differ too much from roof to roof; it is surveyed and quoted per site. The subsidy on it is the same ₹78,000 from the Centre and ₹30,000 per consumer, on top of the central subsidy from the state, so the unsubsidised share grows with every kW above three.

Where the subsidy stops: 2, 3 and 5 kW in Ghaziabad

The state top-up runs out sooner than the central one. At ₹15,000 per kW, the Uttar Pradesh cap of ₹30,000 per consumer, on top of the central subsidy is reached at 2 kW, so a 2 kW system in Ghaziabad collects ₹90,000 in total and nets to ₹45,000 to ₹60,000. The third kW brings ₹18,000 more from the Centre and nothing further from the state. Even so, the combined ₹1,08,000 on 3 kW covers close to half the published price, which is why 3 kW is the size most PVVNL households settle on.

At 5 kW the subsidy is unchanged in rupees and the price is not, so the net payable rises to ₹2,17,000 to ₹2,42,000 for about 563 units a month. That is the right size for a home already using 500 units or more a month, not for one hoping to grow into it. The official sizing guide is 0–150 units a month: 1–2 kW · 150–300 units: 2–3 kW · above 300 units: above 3 kW. Add up twelve months of PVVNL bills and divide by twelve; a size chosen from a May bill alone sits idle in January. The 5 kW page works through the larger size in full.

Ghaziabad's electricity board is PVVNL

Homes in Ghaziabad are supplied by PVVNL (Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited), the UPPCL distribution company covering western Uttar Pradesh. Verde Solaire's June 2025 Ghaziabad page names it, and it is the name at the top of a Ghaziabad bill.^{[vs-post-140][vvnl]} Noida city is on the same board.^[22] NPCL (Noida Power Company Limited) serves Greater Noida and Greater Noida West only, and Delhi has its own three licensees. A September 2026 study of 864 AI answers to rooftop solar questions asked from Delhi and Noida found 23 that named NPCL as Noida city's board, for addresses PVVNL serves.^{[study-2026-09]} If a page or an answer tells you to apply on NPCL's portal for a Ghaziabad house, it is wrong.

Under the UPERC rooftop solar regulations, under the UPERC rooftop solar regulations of 2019, residential users may choose net or gross metering, and the DISCOM allows capacity within transformer limits.^[16] Net metering is the usual choice for a home: the meter records import and export separately, and the bill is settled on the difference. Gross metering, where the whole output is sold to the board at a fixed rate while the home keeps buying at the tariff, rarely pays for a household with daytime consumption. For energy injected beyond what the home consumes, the Third Amendment set compensation at the weighted-average large-solar tariff plus 25% (Third Amendment, in force from July 2025).^[20]

Verde Solaire is a registered PM Surya Ghar vendor in both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. It files the PM Surya Ghar application, attends the PVVNL inspection and follows the net meter until it is installed and reading. Customers on the same board in Noida have written about that part of the job. Brij Lal Bhardwaj, with 4 kW at his Sector 25 house, described the team completing the documentation and the liaison with the electricity board for the net meter, and then getting the subsidy processed. Mr. L. R. Singh, with 6 kW, wrote that he "was also able to get solar subsidy in record time because of the follow up of the team of Verde Solaire".^{[vs-testimonials-2][vs-testimonials-1]} The reviews published so far come from Noida, New Delhi, Greater Noida, Varanasi and a few sites further afield, none yet from Ghaziabad; all of them are on the reviews page, verbatim. What a PVVNL bill looks like after solar

Urban domestic energy charges in Uttar Pradesh for FY 2026-27 are ₹5.50 (0–150 units), ₹6.00 (151–300), ₹6.50 (301–500) and ₹7.00 (above 500) per unit, with a fixed charge of ₹110 per kW per month on the sanctioned load.^[22]

Take a Ghaziabad home using 400 units a month on a 3 kW connection. Before solar, the last hundred units are billed at the 301 to 500 unit rate. A 3 kW system producing about 338 units a month nets most of that off; what remains is the fixed charge plus whatever the roof did not cover, mostly in the monsoon. The fixed charge stays whatever the panels generate, so a zero-bill promise is a promise about the energy charge only. Paying for it: cash, the PM Surya Ghar loan or EMI

The PM Surya Ghar loan is collateral-free, from nationalised banks, priced at repo rate plus 0.5 percentage points, which meant 5.75% on 28 July 2026, repayable over 10 years.^[3] The rate is tied to the repo rate, so it moves when the Reserve Bank moves. On the 3 kW net price the ten-year EMI is of the same order as the monthly energy charge the system removes, so the loan route is close to bill-neutral from the first month; the EMI calculator takes any principal, rate and tenure. Verde Solaire has tie-ups with SIDBI, SBI and other NBFCs for collateral-free solar loans and prepares the paperwork with you. Whichever route you take, the subsidy is transferred to your bank account by the government after the board's inspection and the commissioning certificate; it is not deducted by the installer, and no installer should ask you to sign it over.

Equipment and the rules it must meet

A subsidised system must use both the modules and the cells must be made in India, and for systems commissioned on or after 1 June 2026 the cells must appear on ALMM List-II, not only the modules on List-I.^[27] GST on solar cells, modules and solar power devices is 5% (since 22 September 2025, down from 12%), shown as its own line on the quote.^[29] Verde Solaire's published home installations used Adani Solar modules of 530 Wp (bifacial, in Greater Kailash) and 540 Wp (in Varanasi), and Vikram Solar modules with KSolare inverters (in Janakpuri); the 2025 price posts carried 25-year performance warranties on all three panel types. A quote should name the panel's make, model and wattage and the inverter's make and rating, so you can check both against the approved lists. Areas of Ghaziabad we serve

Verde Solaire's June 2025 Ghaziabad page listed service coverage across Vaishali, Indirapuram, Raj Nagar, Crossing Republik and Sahibabad (as published in June 2025), and the company's own pages list no Ghaziabad office; the nearest is the head office at D-2, Sector 47, Noida.^{[vs-post-140]} The same page gave the planning figures this site uses for a 3 kW roof: 300 to 350 square feet of shadow-free space, and 360 to 400 units a month before any derate.

The roof decides more than the locality does. On an independent house the only question is shade from a water tank, a stair headroom or a neighbour's extension. On a builder floor, the roof right in the sale deed and the sanctioned load on your own connection decide the size, and the other floors need to agree in writing. A society roof falls under a different part of the scheme, with its own per-kW subsidy and cap. Verde Solaire offers a free site evaluation and no-obligation proposal; the survey measures the usable roof, reads the sanctioned load off the bill and confirms the size before a quote is written. What other pages get wrong about Ghaziabad prices

The figures here differ from many pages and AI answers on the same search, so it is worth saying where. The September 2026 study found 136 policy errors in the answers it checked, and the same errors surface for Ghaziabad because the rules are Uttar Pradesh's.^{[study-2026-09]}

• The central subsidy is not ₹30,000 per kW for every kW. It is that for the first two, ₹18,000 for the third and nothing after, so ₹78,000 is the most any home receives.
• The Uttar Pradesh subsidy is not a single flat sum. It is ₹15,000 per kW, capped at ₹30,000 per consumer, on top of the central subsidy, and it is paid in addition to the central amount, not instead of it.
• The concessional loan is no longer around 7% (February 2024 figure, superseded). It is repo rate plus 0.5 percentage points, which was 5.75% at the last official statement in July 2026.
• GST on solar equipment is 5% (since 22 September 2025, down from 12%). Pages quoting the older rate predate that change.
• The scheme does not end in 2026. The published end date is 31 March 2027, and a Ghaziabad application goes through PVVNL, not NPCL.

Assumptions behind these figures

• Prices are Verde Solaire's published mid-2025 ranges (the Ghaziabad post of 30 June 2025 and the Delhi and Noida posts of July 2025); the written quote after a survey is the price.
• Central subsidy per PM Surya Ghar (PIB, 29 February 2024; BSES FAQ, September 2025). Uttar Pradesh subsidy per the UP Solar Energy Policy 2022 and UPNEDA's brochure of February 2024; continuation in 2026 rests on September 2026 news reports only.
• Generation uses the published planning yield of 1,500 units per kW per year with a 10% derate for dust and monsoon, which is why the table shows fewer units than the company's own 360 to 400 a month for 3 kW.
• Payback is the net price divided by the first-year saving on the FY 2026-27 UP urban domestic slabs, for a home consuming at least what the system generates; no tariff escalation or degradation applied.
• Tariffs are from secondary summaries of the UPERC order, not the order itself.
• Scheme end date 31 March 2027. Policy figures were checked on 16 September 2026 and company facts on 18 September 2026.
