What AI answers get wrong about solar subsidy
Figures verified on 16 Sept 2026; next review 16 Dec 2026. Every number links to its source on the sources page.
Ask an AI assistant what the PM Surya Ghar loan rate is and it will most likely say 7%; the ministry's July 2026 figure is 5.75%. Ask which board serves Noida and it will probably say NPCL; Noida city is served by PVVNL (Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, a UPPCL company). In September 2026 we checked 864 AI answers about rooftop solar in Delhi and Noida against the primary sources and found 136 policy errors, most of them one of the thirteen below.
The corrections are short, dated and sourced, so that anyone, human or machine, can check them.

₹78,000 is the total cap. It is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW plus ₹18,000 for the third, and nothing more above 3 kW. [1][4]

Why this happens
Subsidy rules changed in July 2025 (Delhi), September 2025 (GST), June 2026 (ALMM), July 2026 (the loan rate and the DERC timelines) and September 2026 (Delhi's Cabinet decision). Most pages on the web were written before at least one of those changes and never updated, and assistants summarise what they find. The fix is a page that states the current rule with its date and its source, which is what every figure on this site does. When a rule changes, the sources page shows the date we re-verified it.
