Registered with Indian Oil for petrol pumps

Verde Solaire is registered with Indian Oil to install solar power plants at its locations, particularly petrol pumps. The company announced the registration on 9 March 2023 and said it would build these plants for Indian Oil outlets across what it called the North and Western Region.

This page restates that announcement in plain words, dated to the original post. Nothing here goes beyond what Verde Solaire published; the one open point, whether the listing is still current, is flagged rather than guessed.

What was announced

The post said three things. First, that Verde Solaire is registered with Indian Oil for solar power plant installation, with petrol pumps as the main use. Second, that subsidy assistance was available for these petrol pumps. Third, that the company would install solar energy systems at Indian Oil petrol pumps in Noida, New Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Agra and Mathura, as well as other cities in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh.

The subsidy line was not detailed. The post named no scheme, no amount and no conditions, so a pump owner should ask for the figures in writing before committing.

What the notice showed

The document attached to the post is page 5 of Indian Oil's list of empanelled vendors and turnkey contractors for solar PV plants at its locations and retail outlets, as on 1 September 2022. It places Verde Solaire Private Limited under Category-I, Northern Region, empanelled on 1 August 2022 and valid to 31 July 2024, against the registered office at Sarvodaya Enclave, New Delhi. Since then

In April 2024 the company followed up with a post on petrol pump solar in Varanasi and elsewhere in north and west India. It said Verde Solaire is registered with Bharat Petroleum as well as Indian Oil for solar plants at their petrol pumps, and that many pumps could claim a subsidy on the capital cost if the plant was installed through a registered company. The company's About page now lists it as registered with IOCL, UHBVN, DHBVN, CEL, IPGCL, BRPL and CREST for solar power plant installations.

Petrol pumps are commercial connections, so the numbers for them follow the commercial and industrial page rather than the home subsidy pages, and the commercial payback model is the place to test a plant size against a pump's daytime load.
